Capitalism is just a way to manage numbers.

If the true costs were accounted for, Capitalism would work great. The problem is a lot of the costs are left for someone else to eat.

Capitalism us a way to manage resources in a civilisation. A way that assigns enormous resources to Elon Musk the nazi climate denier and minimum resources to climate scientists.

And unchecked Capitalism coopts the state.

One of them wants an eschatological, world cleansing war. The other wants to usher in an eschatological, world cleansing war.

Nazism is as eschatological as Marxism (class vs racial struggle) and many other secular/religious ideologies with utopian endpoints.

Depending on your point of view there's no difference (because the end justifies any means), but I think the True Believers of these ideologies would beg to differ.

Having grown up in some rather terrible places and having the displeasure of close proximity of American Nazi types I'd have to say that in the US there are very few German style true believer Nazi's. The modern ones have a mixed system of odd Christian and Nazi views mixed together, with a strong emphasis on racism/racial purity/and gods chosen people.

Actual CID churches are few and far between themselves their ideas are very common in online forums and quickly adopt memes and theories that mirror their views. 'Replacement theory' is one of these that's common in more mainstream America.

The argument I have read here on HN, is that CUDA is made for NVidia hardware, and the AMD hardware is not the best fit.

Essentially it forces AMD to play by NVidias rules, exactly like how they were forced to follow Intel rules. (Ignore for a second that the API / ISA boundary is different.)

But despite that, I also believe AMD would be better off just implementing CUDA.

They did, apparently, at one point pay someone to build that glue, and then threw it out and wouldn't let the author release it so he's been reimplementing it out of...spite? Burning desire? Unclear. [1]

I can't imagine the logic involved in "this is implemented, let's toss it in the dumpster" for that.
