Thank you for the thoughtful response, you gained another customer. Whatever you do, do not apologize or backpedal to obvious sensationalist smear merchants or silicon valley fanatics.

>"Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them."

does that fight against "intolerant" also include fighting people from other culture that are systematically and religiously opposed against your current society and its tolerance and will undermine it within the next couple decades by reproducing more? nvm im aware asking for self awareness is too much.

>but "non-trivial" in the sense of "I have a working, synced password manager across my devices

Is that actually something the average person needs? Do they create new accounts ever day or week that they need to have on all device immediately? Merging DBs is like a 2 minute exercise at best.

I would argue the friction is a good thing. "Do I actually need to give yet another website information about myself for an account?" The answer is no more often than not.

Yes I know people don't care but those who don't are not using a password manager.

I think it's very telling that you mentioned the actual game part last and even then not positive.

People don't like RDR2 because of its gameplay but story, immersion and feeling. Which would be great for a movie but side dish for a game.

Something being popular doesn't exclude it from not being to someones tastes. Fifa is popular but I don't think you would argue that means it's to everyone's taste.

RDR2 is very much a movie game so ofc it's popular when at this point most new "gamer" love playing cutscenes.

That does not take into account how much cheaper it is now with hand holding engines and assets shops. Not to mention games have more than 10 times the customer base now so the price should still go down.

>now that huge open worlds are common and the playtime can be in the hundreds of hours

You mean those huge worlds that are mostly empty and filled with copy paste content? I take a hand crafted linear experience over open world any day. Best example is Dark Souls 1 and Elden Ring.

>for a launcher bug that is corrupting savegames

Paying customers getting the worse experience is par for the course now.

Its 20 bucks more not 10.
