> If this standard was applied across the industry, we believe it would essentially halt all new model deployments for all frontier model providers.

But what about the pelicans ?

Another villain stopped thanks to guardrails.

“Ability to solve hard problems in days vs weeks as immense value”. Citation needed.

LlMs are incredible don’t get me wrong, but they are good on tiny contexts (writing a script). Not on software engineering (adding features to Chrome).

Honestly, LLMs been OK at adding features to software since around Opus 4.5. From what I've tried of Fable, it's a decent step up from the Opus models and I can only see things getting better.

I have a vision test where I upload a good resolution picture of a chess board and ask the model to generate a lichess link.

This is the board https://ibb.co/9HwdDqsP This is what Fable 5 generated: https://lichess.org/analysis/r4k2/1p2b2r/4pn1p/1p3N2/3Pp1B1/...

I think I’ll make a ranking board based on this test.

Local Gemini is a light year ahead of whatever Siri is so this is a big improvement already.

If they don’t like this in the future they can just change to the less convenient, less secure, and likely more expensive bedrock + SOTA.

I don't disagree that local Gemini is better but if you've tried it in iPhone, it is slow, hallucinates and overheats the phone. For anything slightly non-trivial like the workflow example I gave, I think it will be close to useless.

Fracking in space is the next big thing because there’re no government regulations in space (yet) /s

It's hard to know if SpaceX will flop in a week or in a decade but what I'm pretty confident on is a lot of retail capital allocated in Tesla will be redistributed to SpaceX.

So my trade on IPO day will be long $X SpaceX, short $X Tesla. Wait 1 month. Wish me luck.

> So my trade on IPO day will be long $X SpaceX, short $X Tesla. Wait 1 month. Wish me luck.

Risky, IMO. I've been closing my TSLA shorts because I think he'll just use spacex stock to buy tsla at a very overvalued price, just to wipe out all the shorts.

Fair, but Tesla is valued at 1.6T while SpaceX is going to start at 1.75T.

If SpaceX ever has the ability to buy Tesla in an all Stock deal at a high Tesla price then SpaceX would need to expand faster than Tesla which is precisely my trade.

How do you know that this isn't already priced by quant firms?

Even if it's expected most can't do the trade because we're Pre-IPO.

Also, realized move always carries more value than expected because of uncertainty.

More like: why would you think it's not already priced in. Answer: I'm super special!

I'm not special, this is a pretty basic idea so there's no edge here but that doesn't mean there's no trade.

Also, you'd be surprised at how simple the most profitable Quant strategies are.

Musk's plan is to merge Tesla and SpaceX into one company.

New name: Stark Industries?

No, something more original more relatable: X Technologies. /s

It will unironically be named X, because Musk has an obsession with the letter since the PayPal days.

Because principles are more important than a paycheck.

That doesn't apply to most people in the bay area (And especially at Meta).

Before this comment creates a Dem vs Rep division just remember that Bill Clinton, a democrat POTUS, is also a rapist.

One of the best things about HN is a fairly troll-free environment. My politics is/was different than Clinton but I don't think he was convicted of that crime.

The Trumpstein class only has allegiance to each other and money. Gore Vidal called them "the Property party", and FDR called them "economic royalists".
