My background is in tumor immunology research, so I'd be especially interested in how this is applied to the immune system if you are aware of any good papers there.


The Landscapes of Collectivity book has two chapters about collective aspects of the immune system.

if you are interested in a computational perspective, the classic is (Hofmeyr and Forrest, 2000).
