The causes and mechanisms of ADHD are reasonably well understood. Perhaps whatever other traits you have in mind are not.

If you understand the causes of ADHD you should definitely reach out to the Mayo clinic, as recently as earlier this year they admitted that they don't understand the causes of ADHD!
